The Internet changes the way we do business, even the very way we buy our groceries. How we look for our next car, how we insure it and our home. We live in a home found on the internet, bought with a loan selected from the same source. We manage our bank accounts on-line and can send instant messages and emails to the other side of the world, or to the person sat next to us, in seconds. This was a level of empowerment not dreamed of by our parents or grandparents.
All aspects of our life have changed to some degree due to the World Wide Web. This was fine, we were all moving along nicely getting what we wanted, working for stable companies underpinned as we thought by a stable Banking System that looked after our money. We did not mind too much that the Banks acted if it was their money and charged us to have access to it. Our Governments held Banks in high regard and listened to their wise and sage announcements on our county’s economy. Banks seemed to get caught up in the new world of freedom of action and started to become Sales Organizations. Never the less unlike other sales lead companies their level of customer service remained low and what the heck they were still arrogant, be what did we expect? They are still Banks after all. Then America started a fashion of lending money to people who could not afford to pay it back. When it looked likely that they would get their fingers burned they wrapped up all this dodgy lending in bundles along with better financial deals and sold them around the world like pass the parcel. This enabled greedy bankers to continue selling loans to people who could not afford them, and extract the higher interest rates demanded, this in itself is bizarre as usually people who are poor need to pay less. When critical mass was reached, the sand upon which our Western World banking was built was exposed to the tide of inevitability.
Just about every aspect of our life is in some way changed by the so called Credit Crunch and the ever expanding ripples it has spawned. Many of the adjustments we are having to make are a bit negative but on the whole we can see and derive positive outcomes from many of these new circumstances. I think that the biggest positive coming out of the chaos that was our financial institutions, once the envy of the world are now under scrutiny. They are exposed as poorly run economic liabilities. Now, despite the residual arrogance the Banks still show for their customer base they must be made to realise that recent events have shown the basis of their world must change. When the tax payer i.e. their very own customer base have been forced to bail them out using our money as taxpayers, in consequence their world cannot return to the way it was before their greed or poor judgement brought about the calamitous circumstances colloquially known as The Credit Crunch. They do, however seem to be trying to go back to the Status Quo, their only opposition at the moment being confined to petulant posturing from our Government. They were the people who would will lend our money to our own Government to enable us to run as a country, they would expect interest to be paid on these loans and for them it is good business. But now we have had to take public ownership of many of the Banks is this still going to be the case and is banking now going to become a more political activity than it was previously? Are fewer of our Tax Pounds to be spent paying interest on loans to our Government? It will need to be far more accountable and more closely regulated.
The reasoning and logic behind having to pay the ‘going rate’ for salaries for senior executives in the industry, to ensure the right quality, seems heavily flawed. Throughout America and Europe and as far as the Far East the rules of Banking have changed, apparently with no one in authority noticing until it was too late, and obvious to everyone else. Is the worldwide standard for selecting Banking Executives judged by the correct criteria? How many CEOs have fallen on their swords or been subject to claw back of their bonuses? I don’t know much about this side of things as it is run by a set of Bankers, so let’s lets ensure our successive Governments re energize the FSA to cope! Let us move on.
That was the end of the First Phase. We now stand on the threshold of Phase 2 sadly wiser but better prepared to build this Phase on much firmer foundations.
However as I said it’s not all bad news, people are now swapping houses not just buying and selling them. Barter is becoming an acceptable transaction method providing an alternative to the traditional buying by using money. Our attitudes to borrowing are becoming more prudent and we are looking at making economies in all aspects of our life by saving money and reducing waste, all nicely in line with the chattering class’s mantra of Save The Planet. This means there are many new opportunities popping up, where astute people can embrace the moment and take advantage of this change, both to their own and our societies’ benefit.
Unlike previous recessions and the Great Depression of the late 1920’s early 30’s we have the Internet, the World Wide Web to help. This valuable resource, sometimes denigrated when misused, can be brought into play as a force for good for all. How do we do this? Let us imagine that your job is under threat or you have already been made redundant, what are your options?
Ø Get a new equivalent job - HOW EASY IS THIS! In a contracting jobs market?
Ø Take Job seekers Allowance - what lifestyle does this support, and it is likely to be further restricted soon?
Ø Take a menial ‘below your capabilities’ job - HOW IS THIS FOR YOUR SELF WORTH and your bank balance?
Ø Something else? Mm!
Of the above the “Something else” looks to hold the least reason for trepidation for most of us.
This is where the Internet comes in. It is your window onto the world. Your means to find out quickly and accurately what is going on. How you can build an on-line business or a bricks and clicks company, to replace your lost or reduced income. You can, if you know where to look, find what is popular, i.e. what people want. Which areas of the economy or the World are still buoyant. All the vital components required to build your business, available for you, sometimes even for free and are readily accessible almost instantly, if you know where to look.
To demonstrate how this can be achieved we have put together a simple website similar to one you could create yourself, virtually, for free where you can actually purchase products on-line. After being made redundant, without any pay out! It took us about 4-5 weeks to put together including the Company Registration and opening a Business Bank account, (yes THEY get in on the act too). Have a look to see if you like it. If so, we could help you make a start towards your own secure future, by letting you into some of the secrets of how to get started.
We chose Health and Fitness as an area where there is much interest, and the massage skills information offered will give the information necessary to start a small business helping to de-stress the victims of The Credit Crunch and help to fund new business ventures.
Don’t forget to keep healthy and fit as this is vital to your own success no matter what you choose to do. www.tiessa.co.uk

Elderly in home care can cause caregiver stress.Caregivers are expected to be strong and healthy, but what happens if the caregiver gets sick? As the Marketing Officer of a web based business that assists families to find care for their loved ones, I can always tell when a caregiver who is calling is at a breaking point. Their voices are very stressed amd they are almost in a panic. Often, as they describe their situation, I can hear the tears welling up inside of them. unfortunately, some people wait too long and the stress of being a caregiver has already taken its toll, but it does not have to be that way.
If you are the primary caregiver of a person with Alzheimer’s,dementia,or other serious illness, you need to be very careful not to let the situation overwhelm you. While this sounds easier said than done, there are steps you can take to prevent burnout. Here are a few points that can help.
1.Look for help.Allow others to help and don’t feel that you have to be the one to do everything. There are numerous ways to get help for your loved one depending on your needs, location and financial situation. Here are a few:
a.Contact the Office on Aging and ask about respite programs. Most counties have programs that will pay for a limited number of hours of home care services, free of charge. These types of programs are designed to give you a break and allow you to get out of the house.
b.If your loved one qualifies for Medicaid, there may be programs available which would pay for either home care or adult day care services.
c.If your loved one has a serious illness, consider using hospice. You don’t have to wait until the illness is at the ends stages to get help.
d.Ask relative or close friends to help you out.
2.Get some exercise.Exercse can help you reduce stress, keep your body strong, strengthen your immune system and simply make you feel good. Some of the best exercises are walking or biking. These are easy to do, get your heart rate into the aerobic zone, burn calories and give you a chance to clear your head. Some excellent mind/body exercises include yoga, tai chi and Qi gong. Make time to exercise and you will reap the rewards.
3.Eat well.Like exercise, eating a well balanced diet helps you feel good, helps avoid being sick and gives you the energy you need to be a caregiver.
4.Learn relaxation techniques.Deep breathing, meditation and some of the mind/body exercises mentioned above can be tremendously helpful. An easy breathing technique is to inhale through your nose for a count of four, filling your belly with air, not your chest.Hold your breath for a count of seven and then exhale through your mouth for a count of eight. This can really help calm the nerves when practiced regularly.
5.Get an adequate amount of sleep. The fastest way to get run down is never getting enough sleep. If you find you are caring for your loved one at night, try to hire a person for overnight if this is possible. If you have siblings, ask them to chip in financially if they are not able to share some of the actual hands-on care.
While it can be very difficult to do many of the suggestions listed above, you must understant that if you get run down and sick, the problem is greatly magnified. You must be firm in demanding time to care for yourself and most importantly, you must not feel guilty. You are doing a great and honorable thing by being a caregiver, but it must not completely take over your life.
If you don’t know where to turn, consider hiring a professional geriatric care manager. While they can be a bit costly, it is often money well spent, as their years of experience are focused on helping seniors and their families when in nee

When Neha Kothari, 27, moved from Mumbai, India, to the San Francisco Bay Area two years ago to join her husband, she was excited to begin a new chapter of her life in a place with natural beauty, a bustling nightlife, all genres of restaurants, new people and a one-of-a-kind social ambiance.
But shortly after arriving, Neha found herself feeling disconnected and lonely. “In India, I was used to always having people around. I could call friends or neighbors and drop by for tea at any hour,” Neha recalls. “When I got here, I didn’t have a job or a community. I used to watch TV for seven hours a day. When my husband got home after a long day at work wanting to relax, I would sit and talk non-stop, because I had no other human contact.”
Determined to find a place in her new homeland, Neha began inquiring about places to get involved, and a friend directed her to the India Community Center in Milpitas. Neha immediately visited the ICC website, and found not only a host of activities to get involved with, but also a perfect job opening as the marketing manager.
It was a huge change from the corporate IT world she had been a part of in India. Now, after being with ICC for more than two years Neha can’t imagine being anywhere else. “Every morning, I wake up feeling confident about what I do. When I talk about ICC to anyone both from mainstream and Indian society, I feel 100 percent positive about it,” Neha says with a glowing smile. “(Since working here and watching different generations interact), I feel it’s extremely important for the generation after mine to stay in touch with (their heritage) language. It’s important for everyone to stay connected.”
In addition to her role as marketing manager, Neha still gets to put her computer skills to use. “Each week I teach the seniors how to use computers. When I sit with them, I feel like I am giving back. They are really sweet!” she gushes. “I think about my own parents reaching that age. If they were at home they’d only be able to watch TV or go for a walk. Here, the seniors knit, play pool…they have discussion groups and potlucks; they have a life of their own.”
When the end of Neha’s workday approaches, Neha rarely finds herself rushing out the door. Instead, she stays late and even comes back on weekends to tap into the programs and services. Neha is particularly fond of the fitness center, where she takes classes in Bollywood dance, aerobics, yoga and kickboxing. Neha highly recommends the Bollywood class to everyone. (However, if you do opt to try out a class, you’d better arrive early!) Whether it’s 9 am on Saturday, 11 am on Sunday or 7pm on Thursday, the Bollywood dancers mean business. The first-come, first-serve classes fill up to the 30-person capacity for nearly every class. Neha’s instructor Samitra Pradhan, 36, takes great pride in teaching the ICC’s most popular class.
“I’ve always been into fitness and dance. A lot of women feel good about themselves when they dance. The moves I teach are simple enough for everyone to catch on. It sets them up to look good,” Samitra says. “On top of that, there’s the community aspect. People get to meet on a regular basis, exchange success stories and form a community.”
Aside from dance classes and the opportunity to connect with community, there’s something for everyone at the ICC. Since the new state-of-the art, trendy Milipitas, Calif. India Community Center ICC opened its doors on July 1, the concept of community has become extra hip. After signing in, you can walk into the colorful, comfy lobby, grab a cup of chai or coffee and a snack and chill on a couch., You can also chat with the other visitors and members or even get some work done by tapping into the free wi-fi. Walk in a little further, and you’ll find a multi-purpose large hall with a built-in stage and an ambiance that makes it an ideal venue for a hip party, a fancy reception, or a partyfancy reception or party. If you’d like your picture taken, the charming 92-year- old volunteer photographer will be happy to take it for you. The center provides a refreshing intergenerational experience for everyone. Walk down the hall, and you’ll find children enjoying youth camp activities, and senior citizens discussing the current events or exchanging stories and tips with about on how to navigate the cultural changes in the U.S. as they enjoy a home-cooked or pot-lock-style lunch. Walk into the fitness center run and managed by Club-One and you’ll find 20 and 30- somethings along with a sprinkling of older and younger folks working out. Look a little further and you’ll even find a free -health clinic for those without insurance. It is a refreshing intergenerational experience.
Executive Director Chitra Vivek couldn’t be happier. She left the corporate world to join the ICC, thinking this would be the perfect opportunity to give back to the community.
“I’d like everyone to experience (the ICC) and belong. Our community never had this kind of a community-centric facility before. This is great for all ages,” Chitra says. “India is about family. Our culture itself is about family. That is a legacy we want our next generation to carry on.”
In looking ahead, Chitra has some ambitious goals for the India Community Center. She’d like to establish 20 satellite locations throughout California, making the services and programs accessible to even more people. Chitra also hopes to establish more young-adult and youth programs to keep Gen-Xers, Gen-Yers and subsequent generations continually engaged.
“The idea is to give people a holistic experience. My own children are 13 and 11. I want them to have a place other than temples to experience culture. We want to offer classes the second-generation are interested in, so they will want to belong,” Chitra says.

If you’re looking to get in shape, or tone up those loose muscles, one of the best ways to achieve your goal is through strength training. The beauty of strength training is that you can see results very quickly, and you can also begin your programme of training in your own home.
If you are looking to be a workout Goddess at home, but feel you have a shortage of resources such as equipment and space then worry no more. The key to any successful workout program is being innovative and being able to utilize the ability of your own body resistance with as little help from outside resistance when necessary.
The myth that you need to have fancy equipment or lift in an expensive gym in order to build explosive football power is complete B.S. I’ve heard way too many times that you can’t get a real, hard-core explosive football training session at home!
I am glad to introduce to you the single arm overhead kettlebell snatch! By now you my have either heard of the kettlebell or realize that this ancient strength and conditioning device is second to none when it comes down to developing superior core power for athletic performance.
People are often asking me what to look for in good fitness strength training equipment and what is involved in setting up the best home gym for their needs. The types of questions that are asked include.
One of the benefits of strength training without weights is that the gym is always with you. Anywhere you go, you have access to “the gym” because you are the gym. I’ve done chinups on playground monkey bars while my daughter plays. There is always something available to push off of or pull up on.
Do you have the trouble of surplus body fat on your body? Then you might have been misinformed into thinking that all you must do is consume less food and the fat will vanish. How many times have we been advised or have wished to believe that it’s all concerning food intake, that it’s all concerning what we eat?
While many incorrectly claim that since football is a sport of speed, that strength isn’t important. These coaches believe that football strength training workouts are unimportant. They feel that you can become as fast as needed by running with garbage football training gimmicks like parachutes and towing gear.
Boomers are entering into the senior circle and now more than ever before you need to incorporate strength training into your lives. Maintaining your strength is essential if you are going to stay active and healthy.
Broadly, there are two types of exercises: aerobic and strength training (or anaerobic), and each one contributes differently to weight loss. Aerobic exercise burns fat calories while you are engaged in the exercise itself.
But, since then, his progress has been going backwards. His coaches are complimenting his technique, but he’s starting to get beat. He’s slower off the ball and his “pop” is gone, according to him.

Many people want to begin home fitness personal training, but are unsure about what type of exercise routine would be best for their needs. Choosing the best home fitness personal training for your needs will depend on a number of different factors and no single exercise routine is perfect for all people. By considering what you would like the routine to accomplish and being honest about your physical limitations and your health, you can find the exercise routine that will work best for you.
Sports Participants
People that regularly participate in sports or other high intensity activities can benefit from home fitness personal training designed to prepare the body for the additional activities that the person will be participating in. These exercise routines are designed to be completed within 15-30 minutes and are performed immediately before participating in the sport. Some well known sports figures have created in home fitness training programs that can be used to target the muscles that will be used during the sport.
The exercises that are generally used in this type of home fitness personal training are designed to work several different parts of the body at once. This makes the person more flexible in a short period of time and reduces the amount of injuries that occur during the person’s participation in the sport. Completing these exercises can also reduce the risk of waking up the next morning sore and in pain because of strained muscles or torn ligaments.
People With Limited Mobility
People that are looking to increase their mobility can benefit from a slow paced, low intensity home fitness personal training program. These routines use long, drawn out movements to work each group of muscles in the body, gradually increasing the intensity of the workout to improve the strength and flexibility of each muscle group. This type of home fitness personal training program has a low risk of causing injury because of the slow, deliberate movements and many therapists use these types of exercises to rehabilitate the body after an injury, accident, or illness.
Seniors that have lost mobility due to age can use low impact home fitness personal training to restore some of their mobility, making it easier for them to move around without assistance. A home fitness personal training program can make the person feel healthier because of the increased flow of blood throughout the body and increases the amount of oxygen delivered to the muscles and the brain during the course of the day. A regular fitness routine may also reduce the symptoms of many health issues that are associated with aging, such as shortness of breath, arthritis, and muscle stiffness.

Home Affordable Modification Program Continues to Struggle
The Mortgage Calculator’s last report on the status of the federal government’s Home Visit Here Now http://mortgage-loan-broker.blogspot.com
Affordable Modification Program (Banks Represent Main Obstacle to Loan Modification) argued that banks were largely to blame for the program’s failure to get off the ground. In an attempt to jump-start modifications, “The administration on Aug. 4 unveiled the first of what will be monthly name and shame exercises, publishing data on the loan-modification efforts of about three dozen companies.”
Three weeks later, however, it doesn’t look like much progress has been made. “Moody’s analyst Celia Chen…said that the number of modifications ‘will have to step up substantially in the remainder of this year in order’ to hit the 1.5 million to 2 million modifications that her firm estimates can be completed under HAMP by 2012,” which is less than half of the target of 4 million set by the government.
Demand for loan modifications is still running strong according to anecdotal evidence, which suggests that the fault lies primarily with the banks. According to government estimates, “Only 9 percent of eligible borrowers had been offered trial loan modifications through June.” By their own admission, banks remain reluctant to participate in the program. “In the Fed’s latest survey of senior loan officers, about 30 percent of banks said they were still tightening standards for both consumer and business loans.”
In some cases, banks have even acted counterproductive to the modification process, by dubiously suggesting that borrowers should deliberately fall behind on their payments in order to qualify for modification. It’s not clear whether such a strategy can ultimately be successful, but from a cost/benefit standpoint, it’s definitely not advisable. Horror stories abound, whereby “the modifications never came….These borrowers burned through retirement savings, destroyed their credit ratings and suffered mental and financial hardship,” and even foreclosure!
The government also deserves some of the blame for not making the program altogether transparent. One columnist seeking to navigate the process himself, wrote: “I discovered, just trying to access the program put me through a torturous weeks-long battle with red tape that made my previous interactions with the RMV and the IRS seem downright fun.” Unfortunately, his experience seems to be typical, and the relative handful of borrowers who were ultimately lucky enough to secure modifications were only able to do so after months of hard work and persistence.Visit Here Now http://mortgage-loan-broker.blogspot.com
