After the passage of my father last year, I moved my mother 85 years with me. It is active for his age, but has recently started having problems with balance, out of his chair and out of the tub. I did a search on Amazon for chair exercises and came across this series. I ordered a few months ago and it made a huge difference in Mom ‘s mobility and comfort.

The set comes with two DVDs, one has a stretching routine and the other has the strength and balance exercises. Each routine is about 45 minutes and are performed primarily in a sturdy kitchen chair. Although I had these benefits for the mother, my partner and I (both in the late 50s) had to do exercises with mom. We alternate the two DVDs 5-6 days a week and we all three have indicated that we feel much better. I bought the DVD of the year, but they tend to be young contortionists first program. Routines are usually too hard and you end up hurting something and quit. With this game I feel like I get about 70 per cent of the benefit of a more intense stretching and arm strength training for about 5 percent of the pain and injury. For example, for Section weightlifing, MOM uses 3 pound weights and I use 5 pound weights. We have seen significant improvements in both the arm and shoulder flexibility and strength. The biggest gain was the balance and stability of mother. She can now easily get out of his chair, and is much less hesitant when she walks.

I was so impressed by the gains we’ve all done that I ordered all of my older sister and mothers of several close friends. I also showed all of my doctor and the doctor mom. They are both to recommend to other patients. Given the high prevalence and serious consequences of falls among the elderly, I invite you to invest in this for any elderly loved one. My partner and I excersise other week (walking, kayaking, Wii Fit, the bike), but still find many advantages in the exercises on these DVDs. My mom loves the fact that people do the exercises on the video are more like her than most videos.

The only question you might have is to help Seniors set the DVD player and change discs every day. Mum could not get the hang of TiVo and DVD remotes, so it’s good that I was here. In addition, you can watch your superiors first or two to make sure they do the exercises correctly so you do not strain anything. Mom took a little practice on some forms. Now she is a pro.

I ordered two DVDs for the strongest seniors (yoga and pilates). None of these worked so well for us. Yoga has been too hard for mom and we did not like the second instructor and the instructor of origin. The DVD Pilates uses resistance bands, but the exercises seem less intense and useful. Surprisingly, Mom did not like it and because training is shorter than a few minutes.

Sorry for the long review, but I can not overstate the pleasure that our family is with these DVDs. I urge you to do this for your own health or for any senior that interest you. FYI, I had never heard of Anne Pringle Burnell before finding the DVDs in a search of the Amazon. Now she is a hero at home.

I bought the stretch to two discs and Strength. Iam A 71 old woman who has osteoarthritis. I’m patient, but unable to walk for exercise or do aerobics strong. I used the stretch drive once found the exercises to be comfortable and invigorating for the most part. Most sections have been feasible for me except a place where you put the leg on the side. I had to adjust the position of the leg on that one.

However, I thought 44 minutes of nothing but extends too long. There is no logical break in the routine, so you must finish it in one sitting. In addition, the exercises were carried out very very slowly, which is good for some, but I found it boring after a while. I looked at the screen to see how much time was left – thought it would never end.

The variety is what I’m looking for – 5 minutes of stretching combine with the strength and aerobics soft and cool for a total of 30-35 minutes for a disc, it would be perfect for me. I have no time to devote more than one draft (no pun intended).

I have not used force, but I guess I’ll have the same problem with him because he is 51 minutes.

My mother is 73 years, bound to a wheelchair, unable to do most of the things she loved to do. Her doctor suggested exercise. I decided to buy a home video. I first bought one with a lady who does the exercises on a beach, which seemed ridiculous. Plus she could not look bleached hair and fake smile on his face. She then tried the one where a woman was waving paper plates around. It was OK, but the horrible music generated by computer has led crazy.

I decided to do some research for the next video I would receive if it is to do exercises on a regular. I came across Anne Burnell. It is not only a certified personal trainer, but it is certified to teach other trainers in many disciplines of the year, including the first year. She teaches at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the University of Illinois at Chicago. The program is recommended by some health professionals is very important.

I then went to the discretion of the site of the elderly and was able to watch clips of her DVDs senior year. They are great! They are in a group with other older people, music that is both relaxing and motivating. Anne explains each exercise, proper body position, and why it is important to do.

My mom does every day, often with a friend and sometimes by itself. Since the program began, I went back to his wheelchair in the hospital store, and she only uses her walker when taking long walks. It is again the garden and the wonderful feeling. Our family and his doctors are pleased.

I have since bought other DVD Anne chair exercise, Pilates, and yoga. Both are fantastic, and Mom thinks that yoga is so new and absolutely wonderful experience, every time she used it. I do Yoga one with her!

This is a good DVD for people who have not exercised in years and / or for people who are very steep. Aging very quickly and I used that for about four weeks – then moved to another main exercise DVD. Buy this if you plan to do most frequently and more. . . . .

My mother of 72, who has a bad knee, hip and back, loves this series of workout DVDs. Mom is able to exercise without fear of losing his balance and fall. She thinks that the voice of the trainer is very soothing and looks forward to his daily exercise.
