OK here’s my problem
I have a senior project to do in school and i want to to an activity that help tome my body and increase upper body strength.
it has to take 20-40 hours and has to be like boxing, running, karate, or something where i can have some one help me. a mentor IS required
so what activity will work from me? where can i go to learn it?
P.S. it have to help with stress too. like aerobic walking
Hiking-
You get to wear a backpack-upper body strength.
Hike over all sorts of terrain-leg,back,arm strength.
No time limits unless you set them.
Call a local hiking club near you & ask someone to mentor you.
Or ask around & get a mentor that way.
At 62, I can tell you, it is a great strength builder & can be done alone or with friends. Not to mention the sights you get to see & the wonderful folks you meet.
This is NOT a team sport-you challange yourself every step of the way.
Special note: No idea where you live, but if you really get into this sport, put The Appalachian Trail on your list.

Yoga.
Although yoga is performed slowly, you will be working against gravity. The routine will not only tone your body, and increase your overall strength, it will also relax you because you will go in a meditative state.
To perform it properly, enrolling in a class in your community center or local gym is highly recommended.

The local Gym would be the best place. At least the mentor would be a professional.

Go to your local YMCA and do some weight training for upper body strength.
You would probably would have to pay a small fee, but it’s better than having to join and pay a fee for a full year. Besides, it would do exactly what you want.
