What could be implemented into society (social programs etc.) which would boost mental health and well-being?

Think about it. Why aren’t there centers that deal with specific issues?

Women should have women centers where you can go and join clubs of people in the same boat as you.

Pregnancy, motherhood, childhood problems, stay at home clubs, caring for aging parents, pre-menopausal/post-menopausal, seniors clubs etc. etc. etc.

But not just centers, more like clubs that deal with the whole social/emotional gammut, including the ability to exercise, educate yourself, talk to others like you etc. etc. etc.

Dont you think it would be a much healthier world if there were centers which addressed these issues, maybe community centers with once a week time slots for different folks?

Of course same would be true for teens and kids but there’s already stuff but just not enough.

I think as we age with the baby boomers there are going to be so many issues to deal with that society just hasn’t prepared itself for, certainly government and the health sector has not.

But these would ease burdens and create better prepared and educated individuals. I’d be happy to pay a fee to attend such a place if there was one!
Well it’s different up here in Canada. A lot of these things DO exist and one way or another the taxpayer DOES pay for it….whether it’s in nursing homes, long term care facilities, hospitals or institutions etc. etc.

This is actually preventative maintenance and these social programs would cost much LESS than the current ones.

But government runs all kinds of services, pools for example, community centers, which private people DO utilize and run courses and programs, and has user fees (if government) or you pay for the course/program and just rent the facility…I’d be happy to pay for that kind of service!

You are right you could run it indeed if you had the qualifications to.

Yes your idea is great.

Step back for a minute and think about how much it would cost to staff such a place, to clean, to pay rent, etc = funding. And where is that funding going to come from in an already ‘stretched to maximum’ economy? Membership fees?

You state this: "I think as we age with the baby boomers there are going to be so many issues to deal with that society just hasn’t prepared itself for". You believe this?

At any rate, write down one agency you would like to see occur and open it. You state: "I’d be happy to pay a fee to attend such a place if there was one!" So why wait for it to become available, when you can open one yourself?
