The Stronger Seniors Workout Program is a two video set of chair exercises for older adults or persons recovering from illness or injury. This program is safe, easy to follow, and designed especially for seniors.
These two complete workouts, developed by certified fitness instructor Anne Pringle Burnell, will help you become more flexible, give you a renewed sense of balance and well-being, and increase your strength.
The first video, “Stretch,” consists of exercises designed to move your joints to their fullest range of motion, slow, easy stretches to release tension, and toning exercises for the abdominals and the back.
The second video, “Strength,” will help increase your stamina with aerobic exercises, build strength with the use of small hand weights, and it includes a special section to develop and maintain better balance.
Together, these two videos provide a balanced exercise program for the whole body that will help you remain healthy and independent. With the Stronger Seniors Workout Program you will see real results—strength, flexibility, endurance, and balance . . . all while sitting in your chair.

Hey Good luck to you man, I think you have a good chance if you can pul;l out good grades in those classes…
But let me tell you one thing, AP Economics, Calculus, Chemistry, Biology and all of that are no joke (I took them in HS) and will be extremely hard, but it is nice to see young people who value their education like you do man..IF you can sucesfully accomplish all the classes you set out for with A’s, then you have an excellent chance .
I am asking about the the fine motor muscles that alternate between distance and near exercises. I assume it doesn’t matter with the gross motor muscles that use the side to side exercises. Any other information that you can give me would be helpful as I teach a seniors group using these exercises as part of the program.
dumb me – wear, not where
If you are working with seniors, I would say use their glasses. It will be able for them to focus on their target at near with correction.
I’m about to graduate and am thinking of applying at this new gym accross town called Lifetime Fitness, but being a senior \ a lot of pot gets smoked by me and my friends for fun and I want to know before I waste my time if these people violate my constitutional right to privacy and conduct pre employement drug tests? If they do it’s no big deal I just won’t apply but if they don’t I will apply and they’ll get a good employee.
Most Lifetime Fitness centers (maybe all of them) include child care facilities. And these days, anyone who is hired to work near or around children is likely to have to pass both a drug test and a criminal background check. The insurance companies pretty much insist on it.
Based on that, it’s almost certain that they would want to test you. Sorry. I agree that what people do in their own homes ought to be no one else’s concern. But I also know that whenever anyone gets hurt these days, people sue everyone and his uncle. So I understand how a business can feel that it has to protect itself.
Keep in mind that cannabis residue usually only stays in your urine for a few days to about a week. If you clean up your act, you will test negative. It is not like you will be positive for the rest of your life.
I wish you well.
I feel like my body has gotten totally out of shape,
So I got my doctor’s permission to
Join a fitness club and start exercising.
I decided to take an aerobics class for seniors.
I bent, twisted, gyrated, jumped up and down, and perspired for an hour. But,
By the time I got my leotards on, The class was over.
ROFL – Leotard indeed !
I attended an aerobics class twice a week for 9 yrs and loved it, loved keeping fit to music, and i cycled regularly – stopped when i had a flare-up in my joints, RA : )
Hopefully i’ll get back to it when the pain goes and i get into remission : )
OK here’s my problem
I have a senior project to do in school and i want to to an activity that help tome my body and increase upper body strength.
it has to take 20-40 hours and has to be like boxing, running, karate, or something where i can have some one help me. a mentor IS required
so what activity will work from me? where can i go to learn it?
P.S. it have to help with stress too. like aerobic walking
